Wellington WEA participates in online education research

Mr Pat Bolster, President of the Wellington WEA, today met with trade union leaders in Melbourne to discuss the research of online workers’ education.

Present at the meetings were Mr Manrico Moro and Mr Andrew Irving, executive members of Australia-Asia Worker Links; Ms Romina Beitseen, President of the Campaign for International Cooperation and Disarmament; Mr Colin Long, Victorian State Secretary of the National Tertiary Education Union, and Mr J. S. Eilken, vice-president of the New Zealand Federation of Workers’ Educational Assciations.

The experience of workers’ educators locally and abroad was compared in a written report prepared and discussed by the Wellington WEA branch.

The Workers’ Educational Association operated a national correspondence course scheme, the Trade Union Postal Education Service, in Australia and New Zealand for twenty years.
